Once you have set the topiclock on in your channel, check the flags of those who have access. Be sure only those you want to have access to changing the topic have the t flag in their access flags for your channel. To check who has what flags in your channel, use the command:

/cs flags #channelname list

Example: /cs flags #Joes_Hideout list

Hi Coolmonkey, without being a channel operator you can not use operator commands. You need more specific about the questions irc operators and channel operators are different things and has different commands as well.

No worries..

0nce you're ip have been banned from the site. try to disable all firewall from the PC and from the Router and then check again if you can login if not follow this simple resolution.

1. turn off any antivirus or third party firewall that you have
2. Disconnect the router from the modem [cable modem, regular isp modem] and try a direct connection. Using an ethernet cable directly connect your computer to the modem bypassing the router.
3. or even by changing Ip you could possibly get into the site.. you can be in touch with the current Ip from IP-Details.com ..You cannot change the ip address, if you are using static ip address.If it is dynamic ip address, you can change it easily by resetting the modem or switching it off and on.you can also use Proxy server or Hide ip address software to change the ip address

You have to make sure you are using a registered nick and already identified to do that just check the link below

Join the channel you want to register it like for example if you wanna register a channel name Titans so the command will be:

/join #Titans

Third

Make sure the room you joined aren't registered and you are the only one on it or was the first to join. To check the room is not register or not just type

If its not register it would tell you

-ChanServ- Channel #Titans is not registered.

If its register it would give u a list of info

How to auto save logs and see them?

Just wanted to share for others how to make ur script auto save logs private/main since I noticed few didn't know about it

this way for only who is using mirc or any other script based on it like pnplus/bambino whatever

Steps

Go Tools ----> Options ----> IRC ----> Logging

For who doesn't know the best things, you should maybe do these settings or its the one I'm doing it

Automatic log: Both
Reload logs: Both
Timestamp logs: (hh:nn:ss)
Date filenames: By Month
Logs and buffer save folder: Here you choose where to save logs
Other Marked Things: Include Network & Make Folder & Except status

All these previous things are marked other things which wasn't mentioned shouldn't be marked.

For reading them from the mirc without going to the folder Go Tools ----> Log Files

How to auto identify using mIRC?

Some people their nicks were dropped while they forgot to identify so this way might help you for auto identify if u are using mIRC or any script based on it like

(PnPlus,IRCap,NoName,IceChat,.....etc.)

How to set it

Go to tools on the top bar then Options ---> Connect ----> Option ---> Perform then mark Enable perform on connect

and go to Perform commands: then type the command for the identify with your own password /msg nickserv identify <yourpassword> .

Please Note:

If you didn't identify for 30 days .. your nickname will be dropped and anyone else can register it ... and if it happened its not our problem when people come ask about their nicknames since we always advice for identify ur nick each time u come in

How to highlight ur nickname using mIRC ?

You can highlight your nickname with the color u want and the sound you want like when anyone calls your nickname on the main or pvt or any place you are in.

Go on top bar choose Tools ---> Address Book ----> Hightlight

Then mark Enable hightlight and then click on Add

At highlight lines that contain these words: type $me it stand for ur nickname whatever it is ...

then choose on color the color you want and on sound the sound u want .... but make sure at sound it only accept .wav file ...

How to ignore someone using silence command ?

The following meanings of each flag:

    p = Block private PRIVMSG
    c = Block public PRIVMSG (to a channel)
    i = Block INVITE
    n = Block private NOTICE
    t = Block public NOTICE (to a channel)
    a = Block all the above types
    x = Exception.

Example:

If you want to ignore someone from Private with nickname Histen

/silence +Histen p

If you want to ignore Histen IP from your [b]Private[/b] lets say as he keep changing the nick and bug you over so for example his IP is [b]FA0226.ACF033.D0C64D.9730CE

/silence +*!*@FA0226.ACF033.D0C64D.9730CE p

Please Note:

If you want to remove someone from the silence just replace the + with -
To get you silence list command used is just /silence and you shall get the info in your status page.
If some people wonder how to get others IP you just use /whois nickname and his IP with the rooms he in will appear in your status.

How to get start with mIRC ?

Since i see many people just starting to use scripts and it would be abit hard for them so i made a guide for how u can connect to our server, This guide will show you how to run mIRC or any script that passed on it like pnplus, bambino etc.

Before you can start using mIRC, you will need to download and install it to get one of the mIRC scripts check that link http://chanops.org/community/index.php/topic,315.0.html. If you have already done that, you can skip this step.
Run mIRC by double-clicking on the mIRC icon on your desktop or in your Windows Start menu. You should then see the Connect window below which you can use to connect to IRC.
Small box will come you will need to enter something for your Full Name and Email Address. These do not have to be your real full name and email address. Choose your Nickname and Alternative nickname. These are the names by which other people will know you on IRC.
Click Servers on the Connect mini list and choose the server you want. For running ICQ then you need to choose IrCQNet and then click Select then make sure the Server that chosen there is IrCQNet: Random server
Click now Connect and then you shall be connected to our server.

Now with all these steps i think all will be fine just if u want to check the channel list you need to type /list and double click on any room you want to go for it, If you already know the room name then use the command /join #channel replace only channel with the channel name and keep the #

If you are interested in becoming a ChanOp for the ircqnet-administered channels, you need to submit an application through the helpdesk at http://chanops.org/helpdesk

Read the "How to be a ChanOp" information (you may want to copy this to notepad or move it to another window), then click on Submit a Ticket. When this window opens, fill in your information and then choose from the Category drop-down list either ChanOp Applications or OpHelper Applications, whichever applies.

Put in your subject and message (following the guidelines from the "How to be a ChanOp" information). You don't need to attach anything if you're putting in an application, answer the "SPAM Prevention: Random Question:" and type in the numbers you see as indicated.

Check your information then click the "Submit Ticket" button.

Usually you will recieve an acknowledgement of your application within 12 hours. We review the applications about every 4 months or so. We can only accept a limited number of new ops at a time, so if you are not rejected nor accepted then your application remains available for review indefinitely until you are accepted or rejected. There is no guarantee on how long before you might receive an acceptance. IF your application is accepted, you will receive a response on your application ticket and a memo through the chat network, informing you of what steps you need to take next.

It's represented by numerical code, which is assigned to each device like computer,printer, phone.
IP's are two types.There are Internal IP, External IP
Internal IP means that your system ip address.
If you want to know your system ip address follow these steps:
Start--->run-->Type cmd
Then command prompt will display.
type ipconfig
then it will display your system ip address

External IP address means that your network IP address.
If you want to know your Network IP address then visit Ip-details.com here they display Internet service provider,IP address, location, Longitude,latitude and so on.

It depends on what client you use.

In most irc clients, you can use colors by typing ctrl +k , for bold ctrl + b, for underline ctrl +u

In the icq flash chat client on www.icq.com you have to do color on the site: hit and hold ALT then press 03 on the number pad on the right, then let go, and type: for white - 1 for black - 2 for dark blue - 3 for dark green - 4 for red - 5 for brown - 6 for purple - 7 for orange - 8 for yellow - 9 for bright green - 10 for teal - 11 for bright blue - 12 for blue - 13 for pink - 14 for dark grey - 15 for light grey. Also in stead of 003 you can type 002 = bold and 031 = underline.

simply they are certain people who got access through the bots to kick/ban spammers, flooders etc

and yea the bots are eggdrops

for requirements, i dont know really but i think its given for the most oldest chanops

and trusted as well, since you will get access in all the public channels from the bots

Thats how to send message, but if you are using an irc client then try /q nick or /query nick to open a private window.

If these commands does not work, then only choice is the /privmsg command.
